The Angel Brothers have returned in 2009 with a stunning new album, an expanded live band and a long–overdue return to the concert stage.

The Angel Brothers have produced a new album at long last! The eponymously titled ANGEL BROTHERS will be released on Navigator Records in spring 2009.
Dave and Keith Angel describe the new cd as their best yet. The album was inspired by the recent death of their father Ivor Angel who was a real lover of life and a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to the two brothers.

The disc features more vocals and vocal textures than previous records, courtesy of fabulous Bombay –born female vocalist Sandhya Sanjana and the brother’s long –time associate Mick Humphrey. There are superb string arrangements and solos from English fiddlers Becki Driscoll & Nick Wyke and a cameo appearance from Dave Formula on keyboards who has been busy re-forming the legendary Magazine and recording his solo album (which also features Keith Angel on some tracks.)

Dave and Keith describe the new Angel Brothers album as ..’ a soundtrack to a film of your imagination’ and hope fans old and new will really enjoy the new record. The Angel Brothers trademark grooves are still very much in evidence on the new record, due in no small part to Jim Lockey and Andy Seward’s consistently funky, intelligent and rock steady electric and double bass lines. The CD was recorded at Wavelenghth Studios, Doncaster and mastered by the incomparable Jon Astley at Close To The Edge mastering. Producer / engineer Keith Angel implores all listeners to don some good quality headphones in order to experience the full sonic effect of the CD!
